Hi, and welcome to the Amalgamation. It has a terrible name, but it mainly just refers to the fact that it's an attempt to streamline my other blogs into one cohesive unit. Here you'll find A Humble Art Folio, Visual Diary of the Fizzy, and fizzy musings, all rolled into one. Most of it relates to my 'art,' that is, my attempts to illustrate my way through life!
I'm an Australian wife, mother and uni student who loves art, books, and heaps more. Thanks for visiting!

“[Do Not Love the World] Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world.”

The enemies of freedom and democracy are always at work. Sadly they are often helped by those whom Lenin referred to as “useful idiots”. That is, many in the West are wittingly or unwittingly assisting the enemies of the West in their purposes and plans. Appeasement is often a part of this process. By not taking [...]
As people more and more reject the notion of absolute truth and universal morality, they do not remain without belief. The religious sphere, like nature, abhors a vacuum, so people will always find something to take the place of the old verities. Thus today in the West the number one religion is that of “tolerance”. All [...]
This is an article about reading. If you don’t like reading, you will not likely enjoy this piece. Then again, if you don’t like reading, you are probably nowhere near this article in the first place! So for those of you who are still with me, let me make the case for the importance of [...]
Why is it that those who seem to know the least about biblical Christianity will often pontificate so freely on the subject? It becomes clear when such people open their mouths that they don’t have a clue as to what is actually written in the Bible. Indeed, one wonders if they in fact have even [...]
The upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Copenhagen from December 7-18 is now being talked about all over the blogosphere. This is because of a speech that Lord Christopher Monckton, a former adviser to Margaret Thatcher, gave at Bethel University in St Paul, Minnesota, on October 14. In his speech he [...]
Baker, 2009. (Available in Australia from Koorong Books) A. W. Tozer once rightly said, “Next to the Holy Scriptures, the greatest aid to the life of faith may be Christian biographies.” Can I supplement this by saying that next to a good Christian biography, the next most helpful aid is a series of brief biographical sketches. That [...]
While there is often a lot of bad news concerning abortion, there are some occasional good news stories. Two encouraging events are worth recounting here. The first involves a leader in the pro-abortion group Planned Parenthood who has left that organisation and is now fully pro-life. Abby Johnson was the director of the Planned Parenthood abortion [...]
In police states which feign some degree of freedom, oppressive governments have various ways to repress dissent and keep the masses from expressing their concerns. Militias or government forces dressed in civilian clothing will often patrol the public spaces on the lookout for any signs of rebellion or protest. When such outbursts of freedom and democracy [ […]
As things continue to decline spiritually, morally, culturally, politically and ideologically, we need more than ever men and women willing to stand up, go against the tide, and provide some hearty resistance. We need, in other words, men and women with some backbone. But such is often not the case, even among God’s people. We see [...]
Hard on the heels of the passage of Obama’s anti-Christian hate crimes law, we now find he is being aided and abetted by liberal churchians who also want to shut down free speech and silence conservative believers. Indeed, they have sided with the radicals in seeking to undermine the freedom of believers to speak out [...]
