Hi, and welcome to the Amalgamation. It has a terrible name, but it mainly just refers to the fact that it's an attempt to streamline my other blogs into one cohesive unit. Here you'll find A Humble Art Folio, Visual Diary of the Fizzy, and fizzy musings, all rolled into one. Most of it relates to my 'art,' that is, my attempts to illustrate my way through life!
I'm an Australian wife, mother and uni student who loves art, books, and heaps more. Thanks for visiting!

“[Instructions on Worship] I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
In this message, Mark Conner expounds the teaching of Jesus about the discipline of secrecy, which is a spiritual practice to help free us from approval addiction.
What is usually called ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ is actually the disciple’s prayer, in that is contains teaching that Jesus gave to his followers about how and what to pray. In this practical message, Mark Conner unpacks this well-known prayer.
The Golden Rule is a simple but powerful teaching of Jesus that holds the key to building quality relationships with other people. In this message, Mark Conner expounds on this teaching and applies it to our relationships in today’s world.

When you think Jesus, what kind of a picture comes to mind? In this message, Nicole Conner speaks about how important it is that we form an accurate picture of Jesus in our lives so we don't end up following 'another Jesus.'
The upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Copenhagen from December 7-18 is now being talked about all over the blogosphere. This is because of a speech that Lord Christopher Monckton, a former adviser to Margaret Thatcher, gave at Bethel University in St Paul, Minnesota, on October 14. In his speech he [...]
Baker, 2009. (Available in Australia from Koorong Books) A. W. Tozer once rightly said, “Next to the Holy Scriptures, the greatest aid to the life of faith may be Christian biographies.” Can I supplement this by saying that next to a good Christian biography, the next most helpful aid is a series of brief biographical sketches. That [...]
While there is often a lot of bad news concerning abortion, there are some occasional good news stories. Two encouraging events are worth recounting here. The first involves a leader in the pro-abortion group Planned Parenthood who has left that organisation and is now fully pro-life. Abby Johnson was the director of the Planned Parenthood abortion [...]
In police states which feign some degree of freedom, oppressive governments have various ways to repress dissent and keep the masses from expressing their concerns. Militias or government forces dressed in civilian clothing will often patrol the public spaces on the lookout for any signs of rebellion or protest. When such outbursts of freedom and democracy [ […]
As things continue to decline spiritually, morally, culturally, politically and ideologically, we need more than ever men and women willing to stand up, go against the tide, and provide some hearty resistance. We need, in other words, men and women with some backbone. But such is often not the case, even among God’s people. We see [...]
Hard on the heels of the passage of Obama’s anti-Christian hate crimes law, we now find he is being aided and abetted by liberal churchians who also want to shut down free speech and silence conservative believers. Indeed, they have sided with the radicals in seeking to undermine the freedom of believers to speak out [...]
Barrack Obama knew that in order to win the US Presidential election, he had to win over a large voting bloc: evangelical born-again Christians. So he put on a good act, tried to talk the talk, and managed to convince many gullible believers that he was one of them. Of course now that he is firmly [...]
This is hopefully the first in an irregular series on difficult Biblical passages. I do this for several reasons. There are admittedly some passages in the Bible which are somewhat hard to understand, or open to all manner of interpretations – some better than others. Believers may well have honest questions about such texts. Also, I [...]
Yet another amazing episode of the gaystapo in action in Not So Great Britian. This time an English grandmother is hunted down by the police for daring to question a homosexual pride march. The terrified 67-year-old was questioned by police over her complaints to a local council about the march. Here is how the Daily Mail [...]
Generally speaking, those with liberal theological views tend to also have liberal political views. Conversely, those with conservative theological views tend to have conservative political views. Not always, but in most cases. So religious liberals can usually be counted on to be political and ideological liberals as well. There are plenty of examples of th […]
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- In an effort to build more opposition to the pro-abortion health care bill before the expected votes today and tomorrow, a collection of pro-life groups are running a new television commercial on CNN that will appear throughout the day Friday and Saturday on its Headline News station.
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Before this week, Indiana congressman Brad Ellsworth was regarded as one of the consistently pro-life Democratic members of Congress. Once applauded as one of the much-needed pro-life Democrats to stop the pro-abortion health care bill, Ellsworth could single-handedly get it approved.
Pensacola, FL (LifeNews.com) -- An abortion business in Pensacola, Florida has closed after state officials determined it had operated for well over a year without a proper medical license. The Community Healthcare Center, one of two area abortion centers, closed its doors on Friday.
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A national organization for women who regret their abortions says a new study showing a link between abortion and adverse mental health issues needs more publicity. The Silent No More Awareness campaign is responding to the latest New Zealand study showing 85 percent of women having adverse effects.
The episode was based on the killing of abortionist George Tiller. But unlike many news reports, which go from there to simply paint the killer as a "pro-life fanatic" and the pro-life position itself as fanaticism leading to violence, the "Law and Order" episode actually brought some balance into the debate
Baltimore, MD (LifeNews.com) -- The Baltimore City Council has taken the first step in favor of a proposal that would target pregnancy centers by making them post a sign saying they do not offer abortions or provide contraception. It contains no stipulations for abortion centers saying they don't provide alternatives.
