Hi, and welcome to the Amalgamation. It has a terrible name, but it mainly just refers to the fact that it's an attempt to streamline my other blogs into one cohesive unit. Here you'll find A Humble Art Folio, Visual Diary of the Fizzy, and fizzy musings, all rolled into one. Most of it relates to my 'art,' that is, my attempts to illustrate my way through life!
I'm an Australian wife, mother and uni student who loves art, books, and heaps more. Thanks for visiting!

What is usually called ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ is actually the disciple’s prayer, in that is contains teaching that Jesus gave to his followers about how and what to pray. In this practical message, Mark Conner unpacks this well-known prayer.
The Golden Rule is a simple but powerful teaching of Jesus that holds the key to building quality relationships with other people. In this message, Mark Conner expounds on this teaching and applies it to our relationships in today’s world.

Jesus called people out of the crowd to be his disciple, during this introduction to Jesus teaching in the Sermon on the Mount we will look at Jesus teachings about what it means to be his disciple.
Would God create such a huge universe and not fill it with intelligent species? Actually, God has clearly revealed in His Word why not, and the purpose of the vastness of the cosmos.
This has not been a good week for the climate alarmists. Nor has it been a good week for the mainstream media. The MSM has proven once again that much of the media is no longer interested in objectivity, fact, and even-handedness, but is instead into advocacy journalism, censorship, and agenda-pushing. This becomes crystal clear when [...]
It seems every week a new development further weakens the shaky foundation of the climate alarmists. We certainly had more of the same this week. How many more nails must be pounded into this coffin before it is buried for good? The big event this week was the revelation about leaked emails from the University of [...]
Thomas Nelson, 2009. (Available in Australia at Koorong books) This is an updated and expanded version of a book which first appeared in 1993. In the original volume Hanegraaff carefully examined a growing, popular, yet problematic movement within Christian circles. Known variously as the Positive Confession Movement, the Health and Wealth Gospel, the Word o […]
Isaac Publishing, 2009. Religious freedom is not exactly a hallmark of Muslim-majority countries. One of the most disconcerting features of Islam is the way “apostates” are treated. In Islam those who choose to leave the faith are regarded as traitors, and death is often the penalty. Islam appears to be alone among the major world religions in [...]
All around the Western world the Christian church is under attack, and along with it, the West’s Judeo-Christian heritage. It is not just a specific faith which is being ferociously targeted, but all the attendant goods of that faith. Three chief goods – the sanctity of human life, the institutions of marriage and family, and [...]
Once when George Whitefield was visiting New England he said, “The reason why congregations have been so dead is because dead men preach to them.” There is a lot of truth in this. Quite often the spiritual condition of a congregation is set by the spiritual condition of its leaders. Sure, we are all responsible before [...]
If you knew the world was going to end in one week, would you do anything different? I recently posted a question quite similar to that on a social networking website. I received only two responses: one person said ‘yes’ while the other one said ‘no’. It seems this question should be of relevance for everyone, [...]
Study the history of revival. God has always sent revival in the darkest days. Oh, for a mighty, sweeping revival today! (Adrian Rogers) When we study church history, we learn of exciting outbreaks of revival and renewal which have had profound global impacts. Today Christians rightly long to see similar moves of God’s spirit as well. [...]
This is a brief bibliography on some notable books on the broad area of the environment, with subsections on climate change and population matters. What makes this list of recommended titles somewhat unique is that it is admittedly selective. That is, there are thousands of titles out there on such matters. Walk into any mainstream bookstore [...]
This is one of those issues in which I am of two minds. Yes and no is how I want to respond. There seems to be a bit of merit in either direction. So what am I referring to? The decision by the Salvation Army to have a booth at the notorious Sexpo later this [...]
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The nation's Catholic bishops are looking for a Senate sponsor for an amendment that would duplicate the Stupak amendment added to the House version of the health care restructuring bill. Flint, MI (LifeNews.com) -- Caitlin Bruce is the victim of a forced abortion that saw abortion practitioner Alberto Hodari and a staffer forcibly restrain her as she screamed no. Now, Bruce has given an interview to a local television station where she describes how Hodari and his associate "ripped the life" out of her.
Palin poses a threat to the status quo because she is a woman with high name recognition who dares to go against the abortion establishment. She is pro-life to the core, both in word and in deed. And, even though Roe v. Wade has been on the books now for close to 37 years, she is the woman who could bring it down.
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The coalition of pro-abortion organizations planning to flood Congress with people and phone calls next week to ask for abortion funding is growing. Led by pro-abortion stalwarts Planned Parenthood and NARAL, they plan to hold protests on December 2 and spend all next week lobbying.
Phoenix, AZ (LifeNews.com) -- A federal court ruled Tuesday that attorneys from two pro-life organizations can help legislation passed in Arizona this year to protect pregnant women and their unborn children. An abortion business has challenged a bill the legislature approved with several new pro-life laws contained in it.
