It was inspired by driving to our rural family’s Christmas.

This is an imaginary scene inspired by the sunset drive home from my grandparents’ farm. I love that place so much. I used to get to visit there every weekend, as it was just outside my hometown, but these days it’s a 2 hour drive away. We try to get there at least every Christmas, which is the time I drew this illustration.

I took this photo on an old 35 mm film camera, I can’t remember what make it was. Sorry. It wasn’t a good, flashy one by any means. This was a sunset over my original home town, Leongatha. I would’ve been 17 years old at the time I took this. My photo collection goes back to when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I really enjoy taking snapshots of everyday life.
